Cavachon Breed

Our Cavachon puppies are ONLY available from our network of families around the Greenville, SC, area.

Cavachons are a mix of a Bichon Frise and a purebred Cavalier King Charles Spaniel. Bichons are very similar to mini Poodles; they are known for their friendliness, cute looks, and have tons of personality. Like the mini Poodle, the Bichon has a non-shedding hypoallergenic coat. Cavaliers are known for their affection and desire to cuddle. Our Cavachon puppies have similar personality traits to our Cavapoos . Cavachon puppies are wonderful with children; they seldom meet a stranger and love being with people. They enjoy daily exercise and love to cuddle.

The Cavachon is a breed that has quickly gained popularity in recent years. With their adorable looks and affectionate personalities, it’s no wonder why people are falling in love with these dogs. But what traits make up the unique personality of a Cavachon? We’d like to introduce you to the typical characteristics of this charming breed.

Friendly and Sociable

One of the most notable traits of a Cavachon is their friendly and sociable nature. These dogs love nothing more than being around people and other animals. They make great family pets as they are gentle, patient, and get along well with children and other pets. Their loving personality makes them popular therapy dogs, bringing comfort and joy to those in need.

Intelligent and Easy to Train

Cavachons are known for their high intelligence, making them easy to train. They excel in obedience training and are quick learners. Their eagerness to please their owners makes training a breeze, and they thrive on positive reinforcement methods. These qualities make Cavachons suitable for first-time dog owners or anyone looking for a trainable and well-behaved companion.

Playful and Energetic

Despite their small size, Cavachons have a lot of energy and love to play. They are always up for a game of fetch or a walk in the park. However, they are also content with snuggling up on the couch with their owners. Their playful nature makes them great for active families, but they are also adaptable to apartment living as long as they get enough exercise.

Affectionate and Loyal

Cavachons are known for their affectionate and loyal personalities. They form strong bonds with their owners and love nothing more than being by their side. This can sometimes lead to separation anxiety if left alone for too long, so it’s important to provide them with proper training and mental stimulation. They make excellent lap dogs, but also enjoy being included in activities with their families.

Calm and Easygoing

While Cavachons may have a playful side, they are also known for their calm and easygoing nature. Unlike some other small breeds, they are not prone to excessive barking or hyperactivity. They are content to relax and enjoy the company of their owners, making them excellent companions for people of all ages.

Conclusion

In conclusion, Cavachons have a well-rounded personality that makes them suitable for various types of owners and households. Whether you’re looking for a friendly and sociable dog or a loyal and affectionate companion, a Cavachon will make a wonderful addition to any family. Their unique mix of traits makes them a breed that is loved and adored by many, and it’s clear to see why they are quickly becoming one of the most popular crossbreeds today. So, if you’re considering adding a Cavachon to your family, get ready for lots of love, laughter, and endless snuggles. Happy dog ownership!

Common Questions About Cavachons

What is a Cavachon?

A Cavachon is a mix of a Bichon Frise and a purebred Cavalier King Charles Spaniel. Because there isn’t any Poodle in this lineage, they are technically not considered a “Doodle” breed. Bichons are very similar to mini Poodles and are known for their friendliness, cute looks, and fun personalities. Like the mini Poodle, the Bichon has a non-shedding hypoallergenic coat. Cavaliers are known for their affection and desire to cuddle.

Do Cavachons shed?

Overall, Cavachons are a great breed choice for those who suffer from pet allergies or who want to avoid the added mess of dog hair in their home, as they tend to be low-shedding and hypoallergenic. For those who deal with allergies, we encourage you to consider adopting a curly-coated pup. Typically, the curlier the coat, the less shedding that pup will experience as an adult. However, it’s still important to brush them regularly to reduce any shedding and keep their coat looking healthy and beautiful. With a little extra care, you can enjoy the many benefits of owning a Cavachon without worrying about shedding.

How big do Cavachons get?

We have only one size of Cavachon, a Toy/Petite Mini, that tends to grow to be between 5-24 pounds. Since each pup is a beautiful and unique blend of their genetics, these ranges are simply estimates and not guarantees.
