Yorkipoo

The Yorkipoo is an adorable Yorkie Poodle mix merging the best of a purebred Miniature Poodle and a purebred Yorkshire Terrier. This pup falls on the smaller side, averaging 4 to 15 pounds.

Yorkiepoo Breed

Our Yorkipoo puppies are ONLY available from our network of families around the Greenville, SC, area.

A Yorkipoo (aka Yorkiepoo or Yorkie-poo) is a mix between a toy Poodle and a Yorkshire Terrier. People love Yorkiepoos for their playfulness, upbeat personalities, loyal affection, beautiful markings, and hypoallergenic coat. Yorkies are often thought of as a big dog in a tiny body. They don’t seem to recognize their size and feel like they can do most anything. Yorkiepoos are confident energy balls who love to be loved.

Personality:

Yorkipoos tend to have a friendly and outgoing personality, making them great family pets. They are known to be affectionate and love spending time with their owners. Yorkipoos also have a playful side and enjoy interactive games or chase toys.

They can also be quite curious and may get into mischief if left alone for long periods of time. It’s important for owners to provide plenty of mental stimulation and exercise to keep their Yorkipoo happy and well-behaved.

Traits:

Size

Yorkipoos are considered small dogs, weighing between 4-15 pounds and standing at around 7-10 inches tall. Their small size makes them a great option for apartment living or for owners who prefer a smaller dog breed.

Coat

Yorkipoos can inherit a variety of coat types from their Poodle and Yorkshire Terrier parents. They may have a straight, curly, or wavy coat that can come in a range of colors including black, white, brown, silver, or cream.

Hypoallergenic

Due to their Poodle heritage, Yorkipoos are often considered hypoallergenic dogs. This means they shed less and produce less dander, making them a good option for allergy sufferers.

Trainability

Yorkipoos are intelligent dogs that can be trained with consistency and positive reinforcement. Early socialization is important to help them develop into well-mannered adult dogs.

Health

Like any other dog breed, Yorkipoos may be prone to certain health issues such as dental problems, allergies, or joint issues. It’s important for owners to be aware of potential health concerns and provide proper care for their Yorkipoo.

In conclusion, Yorkipoos are a lovable and charming breed with a fun-loving personality. They make great companions for families or individuals who can provide them with lots of love and attention. If you’re looking for a small and affectionate dog, the Yorkipoo may be the perfect fit for you. So, don’t hesitate to welcome this adorable designer breed into your home!

Common Questions About Yorkipoos

What is a Yorkipoo?

A Yorkipoo (aka Yorkiepoo, Yorkie-poos) is a mix between a purebred Toy Poodle and purebred Yorkshire Terrier.

Do Yorkipoos shed?

Overall, Yorkipoos are a great breed choice for those who suffer from pet allergies or who want to avoid the added mess of dog hair in their home, as they tend to be low-shedding and hypoallergenic. Typically for those who deal with allergies, we encourage you to consider adopting a curly-coated pup since the curlier the coat, the less shedding that pup will experience as an adult. It’s still important to brush them regularly to reduce any normal puppy shedding and keep their coat looking healthy and beautiful. With a little extra care, you can enjoy the many benefits of owning a Maltipoo without worrying about shedding.

How big do Yorkipoos get?

We only have one size of Yorkipoo, a Toy/Petite Mini, that tends to grow to be between 5-24 pounds – with most falling on the smaller side of this range. Yorkipoos are one of the smallest Doodle breeds. Since each pup is a beautiful and unique blend of their genetics, this range is simply an estimate and not a guarantee.

Are Yorkipoos Hypoallergenic?

Are Yorkipoos Good with Children?

Yorkipoos are social, affectionate, and friendly. They have big personalities and can be energetic but are loving as well. Small children should be supervised with any puppy, regardless of breed. Yorkipoos also get along well with other family pets.

What are Yorkipoos Known for?

Yorkipoos are known for being big dogs in a tiny body. They have large personalities and don’t seem to realize how small they are. They are loving, intelligent, easy to train, and confident. Yorkipoos love to be with people whether it’s playing or cuddling on the couch. Due to having only a few families in our network that have this breed, your wait time for a Yorkipoo may be a bit longer than some of our other breeds.

Do Yorkipoos Need Training?

We highly recommend Yorkiepoo owners incorporate formal puppy training early in their pup’s life to establish good home and social habits. Their intelligence makes them easy to train and they tend to respond well to reward-based training. Training will allow you to experience the deep loyalty and intelligence of your dog.
